Hello, my name is Scott Lewis and I am a biologist & guide from NE Tennessee.  I just found this board and this is my first post.  I guide the tri-state region for mostly trout & smallies, but also chase musky, stripers & carp in season.  But my passion is chasing really big fish (especially trout) on flies.  My favorite "hatch" of the year is the shad hatch below tailwater dams.  I am fortunate to have 4 tailwaters within 30 minutes of my home in Johnson City.  I just found this board, & look forward to some great discussions with you folks on trophy fishing in Tennessee!!

The "shad hatch" is just starting here, and here are a couple fish we have caught over the last couple weeks.  I think we have a good chance at (hopefully) breaking the rainbow state record this year, and on flies.  Both of these were caught on shad patterns in a local tailwater.  For more fish photos, see my photo gallery at http://s21.photobucket.com/albums/b275/scottlewis/Fishing/?start=all

Scott,
Those are some outrageous Bows :o

Welcome to the board and look forward to seeing how your quest for the chrome giants goes.  I'm a dentist in Jonesborough, and I was raised on the same waters you are frequenting.  I can probably guess your choice of rivers...these are places I can't wait to fish once I get a decent boat... :-\

Until then, the wade/canoe fishing will have to do...It's been great though.  Give me a shout if you ever need someone to help you net those beasts.

Travis

Welcome Scott! Let me start off by saying . I'm looking forward to hearing more about your style of fishing in East TN. I heard some good stories from a good fisherman in that area last weekend. My interest is sparked.

Travis line it up and I'll bring us a boat.

Good Gawd!   :o :o :o

However, me thinks I'm gonna go into an uncontrollable crying spell!  My daughter attended ETSU and I didn't even get to wet a line while visiting - my wife's fault (yeah, that's my story and I'm sticking with it)!   It really was my wife's fault, but it is a long convoluted story that starts in her college days at Tennis Shoe Tech.   Had even lined up a cabin to stay at on Laurel Creek, but we never spent the night except taking her there and packing her back out.  Did get to go to Mahoney's a couple of times though!  And ate at some family style restaurant at the lake one time - the rest of the time it was either Cheddars or that restaurant that has the fire engine in it.  Oh and also saw the marker commemorating hanging an elephant!  Something about the water in E. TN I think!!

Those are some pigs indeed.  :)

We're those on "live" shad presentations or "dead" shad presentations. Um, that sounds funny....I know they were on flies...but the presentation is what I'm asking about.

Again, killer rod benders there.

I split this post so the controversy on the original won't stain such a nice post.
