Generation ?
« on: November 06, 2007, 12:27:41 PM »
from looking at the guide curve, I'd say, looks like by the 15th or so Tims Ford will be generating.

But, wonder if TVA will be in a big hurry to take the lakes down to winter pool being we are so far behind on getting rain.  We never made summer pool this year.

Where are you getting your data.  I'm not familiar with a source that gives lake levels to that degree.  All I know is what I see.. and what I see at Tims Ford makes me puke.

Ralph, this is how I read it.

Black line is actual lake level at any given day from the year before.

Red line is lake level this year.

Purple is flood level.

Light blue is where TVA would like water to be on any given day.

Yellow is minimum recreation level, where TVA has to keep it by law from May 15-Oct 15.

What it's telling me is that we are running an average of 15ft lower than last year and NEVER MADE IT TO RECREATIONAL LEVELS for 2007.  Bad pookie, and that tells me that we are in for 1) Nasty water when the do start to relese stuff. And 2) Unless we get some serious rainfall, we are going tostart 2008-2009 well behind the power curve.  Pretty scary stuff.  Glad I don't own property on Tim's Ford...........

got that right, I'm 25.5 river miles below the dam and so far I still have "normal" water, not the stinky snot crap at the dam.

We at least have to give someone credit for maintaining the 85-100 CFS flow going given the negative lake levels.  In years past I wouldn't have been surprised if they shut things off entirely, at least we've got water in the river......
