new rainy's flies
« on: November 26, 2007, 09:13:36 PM »
I got some Rainy's flies in the door yesterday. I don t know if they are new or I haven t just ran across them yet .  I just had to buy the big mouth bubble head and the wounded baitfish coupled with the alaskan double bunny leaches .  If you hadn t seen them yet ck them out esp if you chase some of the bigger trout or some of the nontrout speices .
The more I fish the more I realize it isn t about the fishing.  The older I get the more I realize it is about the moments God has hand crafted just for me.

Do alot of folks down that way throw the big stuff at Trout?

BTW feel free to throw some links at us about the fishing over there. I'm very interested in the place and plan to visit soon.

But she goes not abroad, in search of monsters to destroy.

She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all.

She is the champion and vindicator only of her own.

Well you have a few of us that do love to throw the bigger stuff most people around here don t like throwing the big heavy patterns esp due to the wind factor which normally blows 5 to 25 mph .
http://www.flyfishnm.com/1watersheds.htm That is one link I have found I haven t found any great links for overall information on new mexico if you are trophy hunting for a big boy actually a big girl since they are actually the bigger one you are limited to 4 rivers the red river ,the chama below el vado dam ,the rio grande , and the san juan river .  the best time overall to chase for the big fish would have to be oct and nov except for the san juan which fishes well year round except for simulated runoff . I can give you some more information on the rio grande but I d rather not post it on the board
