I first met Scott five years ago, .. had lived here about three weeks or so, ... I was just heading in, He was already headed out, walking back up the trail along the island at the dam and had his two beautiful daughters with him.. of course they had been fly fishing together... of course I was instantly jealous of him.. I mean my two girls had never been out fly fishing with me... even tho they had been invited a thousand times.
anyway, we became friends.. he and I have fished together often, broken bread and rods together, and I have had the pleasure of his company on our back porch a few times for a late after-fishing beer in the cooler part of the day... When he told me he was selling out his business near here and heading to Iraq, I cringed, but knowing some little of his history I have only wished him well and hope he keeps his head down so he can be back here and toss a line again soon in the hopes that a trout will rise... ... god bless Scott and all our troops... amen.
Scott is a good man, a good father, a better than average friend, a really good fly fisherman, and I am lucky and happy to be his friend...
thanks for the update Curtis...
