Some folks are asking if I'm sure that these tiny bugs are midges... Yep, they have the classic 4 wing configuration, and if you look at them closely they have all the identifying chracteristics of a "midge".
The problem right now is that they are so small that they fail the basic criteria of trout food. That is to say... they require more energy to catch than they give back as food value.
As temps warm and the days start to lengthen they will start getting bigger and the fish will start keying on them. What the fish are going for now I cannot say... other than it's small, and my suspicion is that you've got to bop the fish on the nose for him to take it.
