I think adamtn's brother almost passed out when I pushed the barb through.  It was still great to get out on the river.  I even tried to fish with it stuck in and actually had one get on.

Of course, when I saw Grumpy on Monday of this week, he had an "All You Gotta Do" story for getting it out. ::)

Just kidding, Ronnie.  Thanks for the advice, seriously.  Also, the new 3wt is going to work out great!

When i saw the fly in his finger I said we were gonna have to leave and walk back out to the truck and go find some pliers. His response was that this was a damn good hole we were at. he at least wanted to see a fish caught out of there if he was gonna get his hand hooked. I tied on a trout candy and stepped into the run to see if i could make it happen. First cast....FISH ON! I brought the trout to hand and released him and was like, "okay lets go take care of that finger." We were on private land so there were no other fisherman around and the closest place where pliers would be and where sam's car was is the dam.   Sam wasn't ready. he wasn't leaving without catching one. After a few awkward casts he got one on but had a hard time fighting him w/o the use of the index finger. The fish got off.

I gotta give you some respect for sticking it out though and after we got the hook out at the dam we fished another two hours. It was WAY crowded at the dam with all parking spots taken. Fishing was slow the rest of the day but it was good to get out with my old fishing buddy while i was in town.
