Wiggle minnows and sink tips
« on: March 21, 2008, 08:21:55 PM »
Just got an order of wiggle minnows from Maniac and their action is fantastic. However, I was unable to get them deep enough with my mini- sink tip.
Can anyone give me advice on what would be a good sinking line to get the best results with these flies?
Thanks

I like the Scientific Angler, Streamer Express or Wet Tip Express they have a 24 to 30 foot sink tip :o ;D
I just don't care!

I like SA tropic express. It has a braided mono core intermediate running line along with a sink tip. The braided core keeps the line stiff so you don't get any hinge, that also makes it easier to cast. The best way to fish Todd's wiggle minnow on a sink tip is to run a straight piece of flouro about 4 feet long, # of tippet depends what you are fishing for.

Use a no slip loop knot to get the best action out of the fly.
