Elk 5-6-08
« on: May 06, 2008, 09:02:39 PM »
I fished the Elk for 2.5 hours this afternoon.  The water is very clear and the river bed is still covered with some kind of moss.

The trout however are doing well.  I caught 12 and several were thick so they have been eating good.

I've been planning on getting on the water, but this weather has been so fine to get stuff done around the plantation.

River will be so cool when the humidity is awful, and then I won't want to work outside.

Rule #, don't buy river land, house sits back 600' from the river and when I lived 7 miles from Tims Ford Dam, I was on the river almost daily, go figure ???

If it rains tomorrow, will be a different story.

I know what you mean.  We bought a second home on the lake four years ago and it really impacted my fishing.  I have finally turned the corner on the projects and have time to fish again.  I still do not fish as many lakes as I use to but with todays gas prices the fishing at the dock is more affordable.  I also spent a lot of time attracting fish to the dock so the fishing is pretty good now and all it takes is walking down to the dock and sitting in a lounge chair.
If we only had trout in the lake!
