RiverHawk Problems
« on: May 29, 2008, 05:21:07 PM »
I bought myRiverhawk couple of years ago and started noticing the sides starting to concave.  I did not think much about it since I was new to river boats and I was happy just having a boat.  Becoming older and wiser and having more wisdom around my boat then just TROUTT and WRIGGS people started to point out how awkard and warped the sides were starting to look.

I called a riverhawk dealer in Atalanta and told him my problem.  He listened and gave me the owners number and said call him may be he can help.  I called the owner or Riverhawk and let him know what was going on with the boat.  He listened and said he did not know how much he could do because of the age of the boat.  He told me that there has been a couple of bad batches of foam that came out of the factory and some of the boats have had these problems.  I asked Bob, "Why should I be peanalized because of a manufacturers defect."  His response was, " There was a guy that called a week ago that hit a rock put a hole in his boat and now wants a new boat."  I told Bob, I was the not the idiot that hit the rock, I was the consumer that trusted Riverhawk to make a boat that would not crap out on me.

We ended the conversation with me going to send him pics of the boat.  Hopefully riverhawk comes through.  On a side note, the owner seems to be reasonable.

Good luck with it Craig, I hope it works out for you.  Regardless of the age of the boat, if 2 years is all you can get out of it, then the initial investment isn't worth a hoot!    I hope he works out something for you.

If i were the owner of the company, i wouldn't want potential buyers looking at something like that :o
That's the 2nd(rumor) i've heard concerning the boats, the first was a disgruntled employee, now, bad foam.
When you have it right,  seldom will you see the problems, i believe this is a new owner as well isn't it?

Edit -

On second thought, I've decided to stay out of this, so I'm deleting my input.

Craig, be sure to update us on what happens.  Surely they will stand behind their product and fix this.

I've actually got the exact same problem with my B-60 that is about 2 years old.  The foam in the sides is starting to cave-in making it look like I have a huge dent down the side of my boat.  I haven't notified Riverhawk about this, but I think I will now.  Didn't realize this was a common problem.

Hey guys I usually don,t reply or visit so I don't know many of you. I sell Riverhawks in Tenn. am I disgusted, you bet but to a man I have taken care of all of my customers and occasionally some who bought their boats elsewhere. I will try to help out those with a problem. The company was bought by a man who has been trying to tighten up on quality control. I do not make a living selling these but I think when things go right the Riverhawk is a boat that fits the bill for many anglers.  Many not all. My name is chris nischan 615-975-2766  I will see what I can do to help. Bd I for one am glad you found the right boat for you.

Glad to see you here Chris, sorry it was to defend Riverhawk...

Hey Chris,

Welcome. Glad you finally signed up.

Need a dealer in Montana?
Yesterday, I was at the bottom. I was at the bottom of a valley, in the river. Then my eyes hiked up the mountains to the snow capped peaks. I thought, "When I am at this lowest place I can be, standing in a river, everything is looking up."
