Limbhanger, karma on the board is important from the standpoint that you are "playing" well with others and generally contributing to promote the board, the sport and fly fishing or fishing in general. As well, as the old saying goes, "karma's a bitch", meaning that it negativity and a general malaise or combative behavior will come back to bite you one day, some how.

I hope you will stay around, get to know everyone and contribute to the growth of our sport, but negativity towards others and a seriously condescending attitude without sharing who you really are is cowardly at best.

Cowardly??? Might want to watch what words you throw around, or at least know the meaning of them before you spout off at the mouth.

Like I said it is you alls choice how this goes from here forward. And from everyones recent posts since I stated that it is pretty clear which persona you want me to carry on with.

I noticed Racer X vanished once he figured out he wasn't dealing with a spring chicken when it comes to this area and hasn't boasted anymore. Maybe he has decided to be nice which is what I would hope. The same can't be said for you and others.

Realtyman also played nice as well as jkilday. But for others they wish to act like the big man rather then cower at the feet of their master, just kidding on that.

Seriously, the ball is in your court...

Dear God, when you get done playing with them easy to catch fresh water fish, a little help with this clear as gin shallow water, super spooky, salty fish would be nice.  :)

Holston for the trout, put in at the dam and take out at Tampico. Nice picture of the fake cliff left over from the dynamite plant.

Big Pigeon on the smallies, once again I am impressed now about the HI boat if it could handle that stretch. That is more of a soft boat float IMO. I am guessing you put in at Greasy Cove at the new launch below the bridge and either took out in Edwina or went all the way to Newport.  You should have seen Greasy Cove before they made the ramp fancy, it was a mud slide with burned out cars lining the bank.

I could offer some help if you were interested on catching smallies on high water on the Big P. Just in case you would like some, intermediate line to start with rather then a floater or a sink tip which is far too heavy. Fish a conehead zuddler in white along the tailouts and in the eddy's. Works like a charm, but you better have clients who can cast like a champ or wear a helmet.

The left willow grass mounds below where Cosby Creek come in always have big fish laying in shallow water along the grass. Tendency is too fish the fast water under the trees but it is about 8 feet deep and the active fish will be holding where the boat is, so cast directly down stream.

I can be mean or nice, take your pick. I fished the Big Pigeon for 10 years before anyone knew it had smallies other then people in Newport and have a wealth of knowledge in my pea head which you might find useful or maybe not. It is your choice. And on the Holston, not that it is any challenge to catch fish there, but I was lucky enough to dip an oar in it when no one else knew they had started stocking trout there, or 2 years before they made it public knowledge.

Hoping you can help me.  Ten or so years ago when there were still fly fishing TV shows, the Watts did a show on Tennessee - mostly E. Tenn.  They had a guy on named Geoge Wankel - fished the Holson a lot I think.  I've got a couple of G. Wankels in my ancestry and I tried to get hold of him back then to see if we were related, but couldn't find a contact.  There is supposedly an old log cabin homestead extant up in the NE Tennessee area that I would like to find information about also.

I know a Bruce Wankle, may be George Bruce Wankle ??? I just know him as Bruce, has a flyshop in Abingdon, VA and guides/drifts the S. Holston. You might check with him at Virginia Creeper Fly Shop

No, I am not from there. Just been around a day or two in this part of the world, and know all of the guides and/or most folks on East TN rivers and streams. Some of the guys that fish that part of the state are real characters. Eddie Wyatt being one and then a couple of good friends of mine from asheville Eddie Pinkston and his mate Kenny Palmer rank right up there at the top.
