Old Hickory dam Report 8/1/08
« on: August 02, 2008, 11:10:04 AM »
Fished below the dam this morning from 5:00am till 9:15am.  Fish disappeared ???  I think I landed 6 skippies, 1 good hybrid (8#), three striper (2-4# range).  Used big minnow patterns.  People started getting rude so packed up and headed down the river to find some bass and panfish.    Caught some good spotted bass and LM bass biggest was approx 2 1/2#, warmouths and some nice bluegills on buggers.  Fish quit when the sun got up good around 9:15am.  Needed a smallmouth to round out the day, got one up to the boat but didn't land him.  I probably spent too much time trying to get the striper to bite, should have fished more for the bass/bluegill.

Hope you all get out soon,

Gary
