The SoHo only has one generator. When it's on for only one hour, it runs about 1300 cfs. The further downstream you go, the more that "pulse" is spread out, meaning it is still wade-able for most of the entire river.
When it runs for 2 hours or more, it runs about 2600-2800 cfs; this is not wade-able unless you absolutely have the bottom memorized, and even then it is only wade-able in a few places (there are a couple spots above the step-grate, and some others). My friend Guitou had a trip there yesterday & today, but I haven't heard anything.

Just realized what you're referring to--1500 cfs is the AVERAGE outflow over 24 hours, which means that they're running water for at least 10 or more hours per day (for at least the next 3 days).
