Making new friends
« on: September 06, 2008, 07:24:50 PM »
I met MIke at CT in Nashville day and enjoyed a nice conversation with him. All I can say is wow you can t  expect hospitality like that anywhere outside the southeast
The more I fish the more I realize it isn t about the fishing.  The older I get the more I realize it is about the moments God has hand crafted just for me.

It's OK if you smelled it, as long as he offered you a pull. That's hospitality right there.
Yesterday, I was at the bottom. I was at the bottom of a valley, in the river. Then my eyes hiked up the mountains to the snow capped peaks. I thought, "When I am at this lowest place I can be, standing in a river, everything is looking up."

i believe I was out in the parking lot casting Winstons when you were there.  I know it got really busy there for about 2 hours.  But then again it depends on the time you were there, I left at 4 when I got all the hours the Unc would let me have!! ;D

Didn't realize Leo was there most of the day!  Showed him a couple of neat feathers early in the day, and then he started daydreaming.   ;D  Jason, it was great talking with you, recalling New Mexico, fishing salt water, and such.  Just be glad you didn't mention green chilis - then I'd really have talked your ear off.  Someday, I want to go back up there and fish some of those great New Mexico waters again.  I bet there has been some changes in 40 years.

Let me look in my tubs, I tend to buy more than one of things at a time.  I am also going to look for an old billing/invoice from them to see if I can get hold of them that way.

The guy at Whiting is looking for feathers that match the description that I gave him.  We have a couple of packs of them at the store but they are not even close to the ones you have.  The ones we have still look great and tie a nice bug but they don't have the color and character that those of yours had.
