The wheels and the winch only make sense to me. Just like a 4x4 truck or Jeep or Scout--The only difference in getting stuck in a 4x4 vs a two wheel drive, is you are usually much farther from the main road and help when you finally get stuck in a 4x4.
That's how I see this monster jet. It'll get you so far up a creek without a paddle, or water, that you're gonna need that winch and wheels to get back to wet gravel. I'd like to give it a try, anyway!!

That orange stuff on the bottom, UHMW stuff, is what I've been trying to figure out how to attach to the bottom of a boat for a couple of years now.
The stuff is machineable, slick and nearly "abrasion proof".
Nothing sticks to it. Glue won't work. I have always seen it installed with screws or rivets or some kind of mechanical fastener. IN my opinion, not the best choice for the bottom of a boat. I don't care how good you seal a hole below the waterline, once the integrety of the hull is breached, it's going to leak eventually, and cause problems. Period. Don't guess it's a problem with aluminum though. Not like it's going to cause it to delaminate or rot.
Last night, after reading this thread, I searched out the stuff again and found one company that has figured out a way to oxidize one side of a sheet of it, when then renders that side bondable. They have made a "tape" out of the stuff. I put a phone call in to the company to find out what it costs.
Cool boat Tim.
Funny thought--When we are bank bound, we wish we had a boat to get to the fish. When we have a boat, we wish it would get shallower so we could get to the fish.
On the surface it nearly seems ironic. I had to explain to Sugar Callous-When you are bank bound, you are bound. When you are in a boat, you may fish the bank edges, or the middle, or two hundred yards or 20 miles away. Mobility is mo betta..
