Simms boat bag (large).
« on: November 03, 2008, 11:55:21 AM »
I’ve had mine all spring and summer. It’s past the float test many times in my boat. In fact it sits in water most of the time it’s in the boat and it has never let in one drop of moisture ever. It hasn’t been exposed to torrential rains because we didn’t have any this year but I have no doubt it wouldn’t have leaked at all because of the zipper design. I added a piece of foam I got from a pilates matt to the bottom with some spray adhesive to prevent wearing the bottom out sliding it on the boat floor. It holds a TON of gear and I’m considering another one for my expanded camera gear (that’s how much I trust it). I keep lines, reels, light, lighters, extra clothing, and fly boxes in mine.

Big thumbs up here for the Simms large boat bag!

I guess you gave up the pilates class to outfit your boat bag ;)

I think I need to augment my Patagonia bag with one of those.

What's Pilates?   ;)

I really like mine, inexpensive, virtually unbreakable, and if any water does get in it, it usually doesn't stay in there very long at all.  Just wish it had a better top on it!!! ;)

Good to hear, Mike.

I have the same bag.  I have not used it yet.  Guess I'm saving it for a rainy day. Long story, but I kind of hit the Simms lottery this spring.

Leo, I got a lid for you.

No need for thanks.  Just trying to help a brotha out man!   ;D

Yesterday, I was at the bottom. I was at the bottom of a valley, in the river. Then my eyes hiked up the mountains to the snow capped peaks. I thought, "When I am at this lowest place I can be, standing in a river, everything is looking up."
