The website said "We will continue to release 460CFS until further notice..." but once agin our buddies at TVA can't seem to communicate.  We seem to be back down to 200 CFS once again, and the fish are going nuts.

I arrived at 10:30 and got onto the water at 11, some of the folks were already there (14 carloads!!) and said that fishing had been good.  But that was not to last.  By 12 the fishing had slowed noticeably and by 3:30 it had just about quit.

So God only knows what you're going to run into this weeked on the old ever changing Elk.

Good Luck,
Petri Heil

You are so correct.  My friend, Jack and I arrived at the river around 1pm today.  The fishermen coming off the river reported a productive morning of fishing.  I believe that occurred as the river level was falling.

The water was extremely low compared to Wednesday and fish were hard to find, at least for me.  I only caught three all afternoon long.  Jack had the magic with his Jack's Special Green Machine and caught 12 nice Rainbows.
