Hey Woodsman
« on: October 31, 2006, 08:45:53 PM »
Glad you stopped by the shop today. Good to meet you in person! Sorry it was so busy and we didn't have more time to shoot the breeze.

One of these days I'll have a day off during the week. I'll give you a heads up and bring the Hawk down so you can show me some of your river. By the same token, if you get a Sunday off, holler at me and we'll get together.

Good to meet you man.

Cheers.
Yesterday, I was at the bottom. I was at the bottom of a valley, in the river. Then my eyes hiked up the mountains to the snow capped peaks. I thought, "When I am at this lowest place I can be, standing in a river, everything is looking up."

Same here, glad you are busy, makes it easier to have that closet full of rods you will end up with.

Be glad to share the Elk with you. Show you what little access we have, have less all the time, reason I got a Mud Motor, don't have no mud but sure can go anywhere I want. Only "2" gravel bars between Fayetteville and Tims Ford Dam I can't get over. Plus better fishing is away from the crowds.

P.S. do you tie yet?

Later

Have not started to tie yet. That's on my winter list this year.  I am going to get a vise and some basic tools to get started pretty soon. Well, before January is my hope anyway. Gotta spread these costs out you know.

Thought I'd get enough stuff to tie up some Caney essentials. The scuds, BHPT, midge or two, and a soft hackle. Then expand from there once I get those under my belt.

that is the smart way to go, only get what you really need, it's sinful to have as much tying materials as I've collected in 20+ years of tying. But it's hard to resist all that "dope" hanging in a good flyshop.

Leo-One block east of I-65 on Highway 96 in Franklin. On the south side 96 is DWaltrip used cars. Then a Shell gas station. I'm a co-tenant in the Shell station building. Can't hardly see my end of it for the canopy of theirs but....It's coming along.

What was that Lambrusco you were asking about? I plumb dumb forgot about it til just now.
