I'll play...
for the somewhat serious division....

For the new division of this challenge that I think we need to add, drunks on film... I call this one "I should have waited another half second before pushing the button"

Jumping in late, but here goes ...

Here are a few photos from a October/November trip to the Florida panhandle. Not sure if it meets the qualifications set by the contest, but nonethless, here they are:

Caught this sunset over Eastern Lake (lucky shot):

Piping plovers:

My favorite -- featuring the flies preferred by the little tunny and the amber sudsy stuff preferred by me:

I'm a slacker; these are old.  I plan to shoot some more this month though....These are 3 different lighting situations.

Anybody recognize this city?

I miss shooting Velvia....sure is a pain to get slides into digital though, but also expensive to get a high-end DLSR....I gotta get my priorities straight....

Velvia50 was a dream to use as long as not shooting portraits.  I'm looking to buy a add-on that would help me shoot digital that emulates V50.

Hey Mike, there's a plug-in for Photoshop (just a 2-step action--Curves & Channel Mixer I think) that emulates Velvia; it works pretty well.

Or better yet, if you have a nice digital, get into HDR photography (it's kind of like bracketing, but instead of keeping the ONE with the best exposure, you combine all the pics using software & end up with perfect exposure across the board).  HDR blows away any other type of scenic/landscape photography, check it out.

Yea, so it's a plug in for Photoshop.   I was hoping that there was one that was part of Nikon's programming.  I thought I had heard that at one time, but I could have heard wrong.  Even though I am blown away with some of the HDR stuff, I am also somewhat bothered by it.  Having shot film for 35 years I have gotten a feel for how the film would render a scene  - what would be in focus, what would be correctly exposed, etc....   There is no film that could have that much latitude in both exposure and/or focus (even though using the Zone system on large format gets close).  Actually our eyes don't have that much latitude!   Bothered is probably not the correct word but disconcerting!
