Some birds with the new 70-400 G, Straight out of the camera
« on: March 10, 2009, 10:00:24 PM »

Saw this Bluebird and had to act quick,,,, I forgot to check the ISO (it was 1600) or the Mode etc. It could have beed a great shot but I missed it by being in a hurry. I need to learn to pre flight check the camera before I push the button…
Still its an interesting shot I thought. Notice the bug he’s looking at. Psst, they were black flying ants….. Trout love em too!

A precarious perch way up in the top of the tallest trees on the island. I don’t know how they stay up there in the winds like we’ve been having.

This guy stood out. I also found the home of two Pileated Woodpeckers but they saw me coming and got outa town.

I guess the theme should be Love is in the air since everything seems to be paired up or nest watching.

Wherever the standard of freedom and Independence has been or shall be unfurled, there will her heart, her benedictions and her prayers be.

But she goes not abroad, in search of monsters to destroy.

She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all.

She is the champion and vindicator only of her own.
