"Brownlining"
« on: March 19, 2009, 10:17:26 PM »
interesting article about "brownlining" (urban fishing in less than stellar water for less than stellar fish) on the front page of today's Wall Street Journal today.  Check it out if you can.  I'll try to find a link...
"A passion for steelhead is a hard ride. It is all consuming. God help the woman, man, or child who hopes to compete for some small claim to the passion in the angler so stricken." Bill McMillan, Foreword- A Passion for Steelhead

That reminds me of  fishing at a pay lake in So CA, Laguna area I think.  Elbow to elbow, stocked trout and I think they had tagged fish that if you caught one you won money or something. It was crap.

ps When the guy in the video put his line in his mouth to wet it with saliva I gagged.

There are commercial real estate developers somewhere having orgasms at the idea that "brownlining" could catch on and give them an excuse to pave over what little natural space is left.
