LEADER QUESTION?
« on: July 26, 2009, 07:28:57 PM »
Gentlemen,
What are the advantages / disadvantages of the hand tied taper leaders versus the standard tapered leaders?
I would appreciate opinions or preferences and I am sure that others have wondered about this.
Thanks,
William

Grumpy nailed it.

I prefer knotless tapered leader and then add tippet.

knots, knots and more knots....

cheaper to fish handbuilt leaders and you can tailor them to suit your fishing preferences, but get a wind knot or casting knot and they are a pain in the anterior posterior.  For what you save in tying your own you don't really gain that much....JMHO
