I got to meet up with the Sage rep at Fly South today and play around with the Xi3 in a 9 and 10wt. They look alot like the Xi2 color wise and cast like a cross between a TCX and the Xi2. They feel more powerful but lost some of the loading feel I'm used to on the i2. When they come out I'll be replacing my i2’s that were stolen with i3’s and after fishing them I'll know better how the feel. It's just too hard to tell what a rod is going to do with a heavy shooting head till you get it on the water and fish it. I’ll post again after I get to fish one for a few weeks.
