I noticed a huge difference in temperature readings on the afore mentioned web site and what I actually saw on my thermometer yesterday just below the Hwy 50 bridge.

I don't have any idea how or where they take their reading, but I would say that as long as they are spilling and sluicing, you can not depend on the readings at the dam.

The web site has just under 50 degrees and according to my measurements it varied from 60 to 66 degrees, varying every few seconds. I could feel the difference as I held my thermometer in the water.

Based on warmer water for the next several days, hopefully not weeks, how will this affect the fishing? and how should it change the way I fish?

I caught fish yesterday, but had to really work at it and also it was the first day of warmer water.

I'm going down tomorrow. I'll try to catch something. I figue 5,500 is too fast for my wading boots, at the Caney. ::)
I'm hoping to meet up with Jack and Warren.

I plan on being on the river tomorrow also, not to be unsocialable but I hope I don't see a soul ;D  Planning on doing a float if things work out.

I caught fish on Thursday. Just like William said though, they weren't real easy. The water down from the 50 bridge was pretty constant ( lower 60's )  If the probe near the dam says 50, it must be right by the spillway. It's taking the two temps of water quite a while to mix. Don't know about down stream. Especially if the watercress farms are getting rid of extra water too.
