Holy shit!
Wherever the standard of freedom and Independence has been or shall be unfurled, there will her heart, her benedictions and her prayers be.

But she goes not abroad, in search of monsters to destroy.

She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all.

She is the champion and vindicator only of her own.

The pictures do not do this trip justice!!!!!!  Eight months ago my wife told me that we needed to talk about something important.  I was thinking man this could not be good.  She has never had that kind of tone nor has she ever told me we had to talk.  I was quiet going to breakfast that morning and she started in.  I know how you feel about fishing and how much time you spend on it, and I'm thinking I will sell the boat and my rods if I have to but I sure hope I don't, and I know how much you want to go South Andros so I got you and your bud a trip down to the islands.  I about fell out of my chair.    I called Brandon, and told him to let his wife know he is not going to be home a week because were going to Eutopia.

When we arrived it was blowing and cloudy, and when the "lights aren't on" you might as well pack it in because it is next to impossible to see the fish.  On days 3-5 we had good weather with 15-20knot winds and it was still awesome.  The sharks were out, the bones were cruising and we had a guide that was a work horse.  The guide could see fish coming up the flat 300 to 400 feet away; enough time to wrap yourself with fly line, or hook yourself with your fly, or relish what was about to happen.  When it was time to make  a cast your heart feels like it is going to come out of your chest.  It's like kissing your better half for the first time, or seeing someone you've missed walking off a flight, or winning some type of championship.  The feeling is amazing, and the great thing is it doesn't go away each time you have a shot at a fish.

I remember looking at Brandon and shaking my head, "I'm living a dream" ....."Me too Bubba."

There is more fish porn coming and more stories will be coming out about this trip, just trying to get you all through the 40 degree temps.

Blessings
Icthus

It was day three and we finally get the guide the other guys at the lodge talked about.  Lonex is his name, and I'm thinking this guy can wreck house.  We get in the boat and he asks us where we want to go.  The deep south Gunnels says, he laughed and said but your rain coats, its going to be wet.  Looking back at the run I dont think it was the safest thing we could have done, 3-5 foot seas in a 16' skiff, but once we got there and made the turn into "Jack Fish" it was like someone turned the fan down (15mph winds instead of 25) and the wave machine off.   We pull up to the first flat and Brandon took Lonex and they hit the right side of the flat that next to a deep shoal.  I hung toward the left looking for the greyish-green back fishg moving so sexy through the water.  I scanned the water and saw a tail waving at me, kind of like saying hey, please throw your line my way I want to get hooked today.  I waited a minute of two and realized there were two bones and one was a pig, 8-10.    I start my cast, one false cast, two false cast, let it go.  The line lands soft, awesome I'm on the side of the big boney and feeling good, fast strip fast strip, slow, slow, slow I'm thinking to my self, LLLLLOOOOOONNNNNGGGGG STRRRRRRIP. I never thought I would be pissed about a bone eating my fly, however, this time I was.  Instead of the toad eating it, the 4lbs snaked it from him.  Dont get me wrong, I was still laughing and having a good time and then I hear, heads up he's coming your way.  Brandon, stuck the pig 8lbs bone.

Doesnt get much better then that,

Icthus

some more pics of the trip-- a lot are duplicates and I realize it might seem like I just pillaged a frat house and took their cds but youtube doesnt give you much choice
