Erwin in Winter
« on: January 13, 2010, 09:06:38 PM »
Got out fishing a little bit this weekend.  It took about 20 minutes for the reel to freeze solid.  Yesterday, on my lunch break, I drove around the Nolichucky and snapped a few more photos.

This place is beautiful, and the river is wild and enchanting.  I can't wait to explore all that it has to offer.  It's going to be fun and thrilling at the same time.  This is a great place to call Home.

Now the Arctic freeze is easing off, and maybe things will start to thaw a bit.

Nice pics, beautiful water and scenery. That water looks frigid.   :o

Is that a Trout stream? Very nice as usual.

The seams and ledges fish great here Travis. You are still too high up for me though.

The top is South Indian... one of two creeks in the Mountain valley which remains frequently stocked by the National Hatchery.  The Nolichucky is a smallie and muskie haven...but they do load it up with trout during the winter.  Whatever trout make it through the winter will become food for something else by summer time ::).

Yeah Kyle...we've had some huge blow ups from smallies in the lower rt corner shoal.  I'm hoping a raft will give me a better means to get to them...maybe after the wedding...

Thanks Guys,

Travis

I have a raft.just sayin We raised about 10 muskies on the fly 3river miles below that last pic. I should have hooked one of them but it was my first and I froze.
