Trader Joe's
« on: January 08, 2010, 08:06:44 AM »
i haven't been to the one in Nashville yet, but over the holidays, my wife and I journeyed to Charlotte with the munchkins to visit my family.  While we were there, we went to Trader Joe's and stocked up on various libations.  They have their own brand of wine for $2.99 a bottle. :o :o :o

The story is that they buy the end of the season grapes for next to nothing and then make the wine from that.  Its incredibly good for the price -- doesn't taste vinegary at all.

They also have Frugal Joe's Ordinary Beer.  This is cheap cheap cheap, but tastes soooooo much better than any light beer.  Did I mention how cheap it was.  In NC, we were able to buy 6 bottles of wine and 4 six packs of various Joe's beer and spent just over $50.  A lot of this has to do with how alcohol is taxed in NC, but the next time we go, I'll mention it if anybody wants anything.

By the way, all the beer is gone. ::)
Fish on!

Uhhh.   No wine sales at grocery stores in TN.  I frequent TJ's and like many of their products.  If you like chocolate, there is this flourless chocolate cake that's killer.  Your wife may just purr!

Trader Joe's is fun. Lots to look at and selection is pretty darn good.
