Canon Powershot D10
« on: February 01, 2010, 04:05:49 PM »
I am about to purchase a new camera and wondering if anyone has the Canon D10 waterproof camera? Lots of good reviews on the net but would like to talk to someone who actually has one before I buy. Any other waterproof point and shoots recommended?

I looked at that camera, and I found it a littlebulky. I highly recommend the Olympus cameras.
I just don't care!

This is how dpreview had them rated...

Best of the bunch: Canon Powershot D10, Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS1, Pentax Optio W60
Middle of the road: Pentax Optio W80, Olympus Tough 6000
Bottom of the class: Olympus Tough 8000, Fujifilm Z33 WP

I have the Olympus 850SW and it has taken some nice pictures.  I don't know how it compares with the Olympus Tough series.  The only issue I have with mine is that it doesn't zoom very much...not an issue if you're taking pictures of a fish you caught but don't expect to be able to zoom in on wildlife at a distance.

Very few point and shoots have much of a zoom ability , and I have the 850 and the6000. I use it for its intended purpose and it does a great job.
