Nice fish on the Hiwassee.

Got to enjoy some fun days in the sun this past weekend on the Hi. The shad kill is going on and has some of the resident big fish taking notice. The Hiwassee loves all the water we've gotten so there is at least a few bright spots to the overflowing rain gage. Perfect drifting water should be there for a while for sure....so if you've not rowed the Hi in a while.....now is the time.

This was our fish of the day.


4.5lbs on boga. 21 inches.

The Hiwassee is such a beautiful river. You guys caught a fish that matches the scenery.

That Gee Greek campground is a good one.  I've stayed there and you are across the road from the water, just down from the bridge.  Just be aware, its like the Park Service campgrounds up at Tellico ... no alcohol ... not that we ever do that sort of thing. ::)
