Magic Hat & Odell beers
« on: April 22, 2010, 11:18:57 AM »
I really like the beers from Magic Hat (http://www.magichat.net/).  Anyone else tried them?

They all have just little different thing going on than the same varietal from another brewer, but all of them are really tasty.  I just bought their 12 pack Spring Sampler, which my local grocer is selling for the same price as a 6 pack (FREE BEER!).  Good stuff - if you haven't tried them, I really like their Lucky Kat IPA and the H.IPA that they make.

Also, while in Colorado recently, I had this Odell IPA (http://odellbrewing.com/beers/classic/ipa) - wow, this may be one of the best I've ever tried!  It had a really great flavor, with just a hint of an orange/citrus thing going on that was really nice.

Anyway - it's springtime, and good cold beer is on my mind!

Cheers,

I've seen the Magic Hat but haven't tried it yet. May do that this weekend if we don't get blown away.

I'd love to try some more of their beers.  Unfortunately, the closest state with distribution is Missouri.

I haven't tried either of those. May see if I can pick up the Magic Hat today.

Magic Hat has been a favorite of mine for a long time.  I worked at a summer camp up in New Hampshire for 5 summers and lived on Magic Hat and Long Trail Ale at times.  I've been to both their old original facility and their current home, both in Burlington, VT.  There is nothing like walking out of there with growlers fresh from the brewery....  I just started drooling.

Sorry to see the monsoons hit you guys.  You know I'm sympathetic, as it has happened to us in the recent past.  Keep your heads up and out of the water as well.
