Hi guys,
I am new to this forum but have been stalking your posts for a month or so, as my wife and I may be moving to the Nashville area this fall. I currently live in Hobe Sound Florida, where the salt provides numerous species that can put a bent in the rod on any given day. I was reluctant to move back to fresh water, but you guys seem to have a world class fishery up your way, with enough species to keeps you busy for, well, a few years... I fly fish as well as spin tackle, artificial to live bait. If it swims, I enjoy catching it. I've lived/fished in Va, Fl, Sc, and Ga. Well, I guess I just wanted to introduce myself. I just saw Mike's carp post and about fell outta my chair- Nice work! Might be the most underrated, hardest pulling fish in fresh water. I am also dreaming of the stripers in the Cumberland River system. Now, I know No one likes to pass out there secret spots(and rightfully so- you gotta put in your hours if you want to earn those beauties) but I am a humble fisherman that respects the sport and will always do my part to conserve the beautiful places we are still blessed enough to enjoy(including everything that swims, flies, crawls or grows in it). I just hope to get out and learn from some of you that have been doing it for years. I wade and Kayak fish all the time and the wife is threatening to let me get a boat sometime soon!! Anyway, I was sorry to see the flooding in your area, and hope everyone is doing ok and the losses are somewhat recoverable. I also hope you guys are able to get out fishing again soon-and am HOPEFUL that the striper fishery will be ok. Please let me know with your reports... Thanks and I hope to meet some of you soon, Toby
