Minn Kota Battery Chargers
« on: June 01, 2010, 08:28:57 AM »
I've used the BassPro model in my other boats with good success, since they are not open and I'll be ordering, exploring other options. Looking at MK 110 for the Gheenoe project boat.

The Minn Kota is a good charger and a lot of people preferred them over bass pro models when I sold them there.

I would also look into Dual Pro, that is what I have on my boat. They are good chargers too and US made in Lavergne, TN.

Dual Pro chargers are top notch. Been using them for lots of years.  Great company too.

I've had onboard chargers from most makers ( Dual Pro, Pro Sport, MK, et al)  and I like the MK chargers I've got now the best out of what I've had for several reasons.   Definitely stay away from the Pro Sport stuff sold by Cabelas. Cabelas will stand behind them but it's better not to need them to!

That's good to hear Tim. I haven't used them so I only commented on what I have used. What is it about the MK you like?

Mike,  imo the MK chargers do a better job of maintaining my batteries than the chargers I've had in the past. I've had a lot of problems with chargers just cooking the daylights out of my batteries.  I also think they are durable and they do get my batts recharged promptly - which with four of them on board is pretty important to me.

I have a MK and have had no issues with it.

Tim, I agree with assessment on how mine has performed thus far.
