Lightroom 3

Taking it for a test run and so far I'm loving it. The noise reduction is simply amazing. You sony guys, and I'm not picking because I have noise too, but this is a great program for a sony shooter.

Here is one I saved. I shot this one at night with a long exposure (stars show the earths rotation) to catch the lightinging and it was pretty noisy. I still haven't figured out the right setings to get my exported images to look exactly like they do in LR 3 user interface.

I played around with this one just a little and I will post the original later to compare. The bokeh looks a little funny, but I was just playing around.

LR3 is very nice for helping control noise at hgher ISO, a little work with the luminance does wonders.  I like thesadustment brush feature as you can get very detailed results in exposure of a object without impacting the rest of the image.  Their tutorials are outstanding

In their original forms both of those images were not worthy. The night shot was pretty grainy because I shot it with about a 3 min exposure at a high iso. The eagle was just too far away and had to be cropped alot.

Aperture 3 has more and better brushes and alot more creative filters, which I haven't found any creative filters in LR3 yet. I'm torn between the two but I think with CS4 and LR3 there really isn't a need for Aperture 3....

there are a large number of filters in LR3, and I am sure you have found them by now. I have been watching the tutorials and I am going to set it all up properly from the start. I really learned a lot from them 2 tutorials and I also followed some of the links in them also. Thanks for sharing.
