Caught this guy in my creek stealing all my crawfish today..he was not a bit shy and was very hungry, we watched him for a good 45 minutes.  His body is about a foot and half and at times he moved so slowly that you could hardly tell he was moving.  but when he saw a crawfish he was lightning fast.  great hunter.  I have no idea what kind he is though.

Juvenile black crowned night heron maybe?  It's definitely a young bird - I'm not 100 percent sure on the species though.

Thanks bd, you got me pointed in the right direction.  Turns out to be  a Juvenile Yellow Crowned Night Heron.  Guy must be from Louisiana the way he was puttin crawfish away!!
