Uhh ohh
« on: January 10, 2007, 09:43:05 AM »
My friend TK Walker posted this this on his site morning.

It was reported today in the "Lebanon Democrat" Newspaper That Cabela's would like to open a store in Middle Tennessee Located in Lebanon, Tennessee by 2008... They want to build a 135,000 Sq. ft. store on 20 acres and to open other retail outlets on another 40 acres. The site will be on the frontage road on Leeville Pike and Beckwith Rd. They claim that this would be one of Tennessee's top tourist attractions with an annual draw of over 4 million people. Currently Dollywood in Pigeon Forge is the State's top attraction with an annual draw of 2.4 million.

The usual tax issues and and the "Nexus" ruling exemptions are being looked at. More will be known at the next Economic-Development meeting... But every one seems to be positive.

oooooooh, that's "bad" news  ;D ;D ;D

I'll have to enroll today in shock-therapy sessions in an effort to keep me far away.  I had a recent post about my visit to Cabela's in Texas.  I went in to "have a look around" and walked out with 2 new fly-rods and a huge bag of various supplies...

Lebanon lies smack-dab between me and the Caney....

My oldest works at the Gander Mnt in Huntsville, AL, my sister in law lives just a stone throw from Opry Mills BassPro. I'm waiting on Cabelas to open south of Chattanooga in fall 07, will drive pass all others for a Cabelas.

When my son was out in Denver going to gunsmithing school couple years back, flew out to visit and set a day aside for a visit up to Sidney Nebraska. It was my anniversary and the bride was as gunho as I was to drive up.

They'll basically give them the land which will attract other companies to get shafted & make a bunch on sales & property taxes.
