TN stocked Trout Waters

Wherever the standard of freedom and Independence has been or shall be unfurled, there will her heart, her benedictions and her prayers be.

But she goes not abroad, in search of monsters to destroy.

She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all.

She is the champion and vindicator only of her own.

I agree. It's almost too good.  :o
Yesterday, I was at the bottom. I was at the bottom of a valley, in the river. Then my eyes hiked up the mountains to the snow capped peaks. I thought, "When I am at this lowest place I can be, standing in a river, everything is looking up."

Ron most people won't bother to go after these fish anyway. The tree limbs strip the corn off the hook on the backcast.  :P

Unfortunately it seems that many people were paying attention...

I went by on Friday afternoon to find 10 or so people fishing in a hole about the size of my garage....

Nice reference site, Mike. I was looking at Region 2 and noticed that Piney River in Hickman County is no longer being stocked. Does anyone know how long ago they quit?

Thanks,

They stopped stocking the Piney a few years ago, around the time that the local towns started sucking a bunch of water out of the river.

The Piney has some beautiful spots, I try to fish it a few times per year.

Grumpy's right - there are some trout, though not many.  I imagine the vast majority wander down from Mill Creek, though the EPA lists the Piney as a naturally reproducing trout stream.

Incidentally, I suspect that listing raises some questions about how proper it is for the local municipalities to be sucking all the water out of the river, but apparently nobody's willing or able to do anything about it.
