Collins River on 8/28
« on: August 30, 2010, 02:56:05 PM »
We fished the Collins Saturday and had a great time.  However, I discovered that I'm getting to old to drag that boat over the shoals.  The water was low and I expected it to be but I let my desire to fish cloud my judgement on how many times we could carry our boat across the slick rocks.  Gurglers and popping bugs kept the little smallies and redeye busy all day.

All in all, had a great time and it was nice to be outside.

Sounds like fun!

I'd like to learn how to fish the Collins, Calf Killer and the Rocky when I get down there.  Love the smallies.  How's the Collins for fishing with a toon?

The Collins would probably fish well with a toon....
Let me know when you get settled and I will help you out with those rivers.
