Yes to all of them.  ;D

If you are happy with your ride. I would keep on keeping on. If you want to step up to a 40, then I would make that step, especially if you won't lose your shirt.

I went to the dealer to ask what a tiller handle "upgrade" would cost, $800 at both places I checked, whats funny is I had to pay more for the Remote steer when I purchased the motor. As my dad always said, son, if you want to play you have to pay.

$800 will go a ways toward a 40  ;D, even before he knew I was going to ask about the 40, he said the 40 is a hoss, I said, as in price, he said no, actually affordable, hoss as in stout.

Wife has been wanting a 40 for a long time, boat is plenty fast on the river with the 25, she comes out of a family of speedsters :o

David, Glenn has been hiding. They let him out of witness relocation every now and again.   :o

Those new Shawnee boats sure do look nice. The rockered back and tunnel hull gets that jet foot out of harms way.  ;D

It might just be easier to sell your current motor outright, and put on something that you will be happier with.

PS
searchtempest.com searches multiple craigslist. There is a 40/30 hp jet in Columbia and 60/40 (tiller or remote, in Greenville) and 48/30 in Bristol.

Yes, you do need to take me fishing and soon!  I've got the license covered.  I just haven't been fishing much since July due to the heat and poor conditions.  I plan to hit the rivers more this fall and winter.

David,
I was looking at Troutt & sons website this morning and spotted a couple of used 40hp Mercury jets for sale.  You might want to check them out. ;)

If my wife wanted the 40 than thats what I'd do.  Always do what makes you, I mean your wife happy. ;D

I feel your pain with the 25, great motor but a little underpowered with another adult in it.

I used my better judgement this morning, pulled my rig to my dealer and traded my 25hp for the 40hp, traded my control box and stick steer towards a tiller handle kit. He had the motor, had to order the tiller handle, I left the boat with him, should be able to pick it up later next week.

He says I will be impressed with the 40  :o
