New Musky Flies
« on: November 22, 2010, 12:19:32 PM »
I put this up on the Drake, but this board is nearer to my heart as you guys are local, & in general, much nicer.  I've been messing with giant, ultra-light, flexible/adjustable wiggle minnows and also giant dubbing brushes (wire dubbing-loops).

Here are the first 2 dubbing-brush prototypes & some other pics:

These flies are soft, flexible/tune-able, & much lighter than the big articulated hard-foam ones I used to make.

Musky season here in NE TN is just beginning; Kyle & J4 both got eats yesterday, & the water level is almost right.  Here's to a great season for all you musky junkies!

I'm digging that giant wiggle minnow bait.  I can see lots of applications for that one.

Good to hear from you, sweet flies man. Come see us.

Wherever the standard of freedom and Independence has been or shall be unfurled, there will her heart, her benedictions and her prayers be.

But she goes not abroad, in search of monsters to destroy.

She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all.

She is the champion and vindicator only of her own.

Scott, I am going to save you a lot of headaches and wasted casts because those darn flies WILL NOT catch fish, I am sending you a box with return shipping inside, just throw all of them in there and send it back to me, I will then discard of them for you. and your welcome, I am just trying to help because I know you are busy ;D

Got to see one swim this evening and it's very very close to the action of a redfin.

What's an "eat"? Is that a strike? Where are the pics? What do you mean musky season? I thought we had a year round season on all TN waters.

You can catch them year round but they are moving up our river right now and it will just get better this winter.

Water level's been too low to float since last spring, unless you live down on the lower end by Kyle, but there's only a couple musky in that section of river...but hey, they got both of 'em to bite on Sunday....water is also much more clear in the winter so you can see them repeatedly ignore your fly...

Maybe this rain will raise it up some, trout are getting boring & I'm ready to float...
