Our friends in Chatanooga keep saying that they are releasing 240 cfs at Tims Ford Dam... and in reality it's more like 50 cfs. The wife and I were up there Sat. PM and I was up there this AM... very little flow at all. The river is more like a pond than a river... the riffle below the bridge is dry with rocks sticking out of the water halfway across for almost the entire length of the riffle. The bend is a pond... virtually zero flow through it. The rest of the river appears to be about 6 - 12" below 240 cfs levels.
Both days we saw almost no rises anywhere from the dam down to the bend. The bend rises were few and far between. I got several "bumps" on a size 18 soft hackle, but no full takes. We could see a few midges coming off... but they were in the size 26 range.
The hardware boys took a few out of the bend area, but not too many. So be advised, and if someone has the number to call and bitch about their web site lying it would be appreciated if you'd holler at them.
