Snow and Stain

The Elk fished pretty well today.  Me and one of my friends decided to brave the elements and give it a go. I have been on lockdown for the past couple of months with work and way to many commitments so when I got the all clear to go fish I wasn t going to let anything or than generation stop me .  We started off the day with a friendly conversation with a Game Warden at the Dam. I could tell he didn t want to get out of his truck ( I dont  really blame him ) so we took our lics to him.  When we finally got down to the water my heart sunk a little bit when I saw how off colored it. The good news is we had the place to ourselves.  I threw on a fly I don t have a name for yet. I really don t even know how to describe it other than I crossed a GB Hares ear and a Little Stone. with in 10 mins on the water we are having a ball. Btwn the 2 of us we landed close to 30 and missed no telling how many more, I also landed a personal best Rainbow for the elk totaling out at just over 16 in.  It was truelly an exceptional day minus the icing guides.

Grumpy, if I didn't have to do this whole thing called work, I would gladly go to the Steamplant.

Glad you got out on the Elk. Sounds like you had a ball.!

I'm glad to hear the warden was there again!!!  I've seen him twice already and we're becoming fast friends.  He's nailed a couple folks without licenses... the one guy was going to have to cough up over $200, and he was lucky not to loose his equipment.

OH!!! By the way, if you don't already know, there's a $40 parking ticket from TVA in your stocking if you park on the gravel below the bridge... I've tried to tell everyone about it I see parking down there.  Here a week or so back there were some grumps that didn't like me telling them about it... and guess who showed up about 15 minutes later.  Sorry Folks!!!!

You would have to be crazy to park on that gravel bar anyway!! Is it ok to pull down there to unload canoe and gear?

Yep;

The TVA gal said that the name of the game is it's OK to un-load and load watercraft and gear, but then get the hell out.  Apparently they've had a car or two go floating..... God!!! I'd love to see that!
