Oh man! That is EXACTLY the kind of rig I've been wishing I had for a while now!! Did you get it somewhere in this general part of the world?  I'd be very interested in any performance data you'd be willing/able to share with us.

Thanks,

Tim

It's a great boat!! I bought it from a guy in Bufford Ga. It will run around forty in just a few inches of water. Entire hull is made out of 1/8" aluminum.(Very Heavy!!!). 42 gal gas tank (and it burns it fast!!!) All in all this boat is a beast!!! and the most fun boat i have ever owned!!! Be happy to take you for a ride sometime, looking for someone that know's the caney fork.

Thanks for the info and offer there Eric.  Unfortunately since I've been mostly fishing out of my heavy 21' prop driven bay boat my knowledge about the jet boat territory on the Caney is on the limited side.

I checked Woolridges' website after seeing these pics and I see that they offer this basic design in up to a 23 foot version and there's actually a good bit of performance data available there too.  I've been wishing for a boat, designed for a jet OB, with a forward located CC and a big open rear cockpit for some time now.  I can soooooo see that thing with about a 100 gallon bait tank sitting in it and a dozen or so rod holders spread all around it...lol.  ;)

I actually have a large bait tank that i put in it when i striper fish , also have two downrigger mounts on back. ;D. as for the caney knowledge, i would still take you for a test spin.

I thought it looked familar I remember thinking to myself you don t see many jet drives in Huntsville. I haven t fished the flint yet usually if I m headed that way I m on my way to Guntersville. If you want to fish somewhere and want someone to split the gas with you I live in Harvest / Madison and I am always up to fish

The flint fishes really well , if you can catch it on a clear day(water that is). spring and fall bring huge numbers of white bass and stripers. bass fishing is good on upper section( not jetboatable but a nice canoe float.) You should give it a try! nice and close by!!

I ve got a one man pontoon I ve been wanting to use up there but I haven t found someone that was up to float it. I ve heard it has some pretty good smallie populations also. Seems like I saw it in one of the nieghborhoods in the Baily Cove area. I work for Johnson Pools and Spas so I am kind of all over the place

I haven t found anywhere I dont  like to go. I usually hit the Elk everynow again the Sispey I love the Caney but the Army Corps haven t loved me very much this year.  I know Bucks Canyon real well I work on about 20 pools in that Neighborhood. SPots are fun I ve never chased spots with a fly rod that could be interesting
