Last trip of the year
« on: December 31, 2010, 03:19:00 PM »
Made it out for a couple of hours today and threw a white articulated streamer on a sink tip for awhile, but the heavy wind gusts and leaves in the water made it difficult to get a good casting rhythm. No luck catching any fish.
Knew I was in a good spot when I found a foot long wooden rainbow jerk bait at the access point and met Baryonx trying out his new boat. Then switched gears and hit Cane Creek to try for some trout with no luck there either.
A nice way to end the year. Hope everyone has a productive 2011!

Hmm, you don't happen to have a white sedan with FL plates? That vehicle was parked at the ramp when I put my boat in. I put in a couple hours, too --  several follows, one that got pretty agitated and followed through about a dozen loops, flaring his gills and arching his back, but nothing that would actually eat it. Still, a wonderful day to be out, even with the wind! Glad you had a good day too.

Gaspergou, that was Danny Kurtilla, one of the top ranked Musky inc. catch members of all time [top 25].

danny kurtilla wrote a kool article on the late musky hunter magazine about tn. muskies.
real nice guy. when i first met him , he had the same kinda gears i had. a heavy baitcaster in the back pocket , while casting a spinning rod. whish i had more time to talk to him, but it was bitter cold, he kept fishin while i left. i couldnt feel my fingers, especially the thumb.

Hey Corey are you insinuating that I told some folks where you are fishing because it seems to me like you are from this last post and the PM you sent me.

Let me be clear on something, I've not told anyone about this top secret place that you think you showed me. I can tell you that I knew where it was well before you showed it to me. That's right,, all the videos and posts you made about it last year... Remember?? Well turns out there was someone who was paying really close attention and that someone found your honey hole. Spent an entire day looking last winter and he found it. He found the tracks in the mud and placed the houses in the awesome video. Told me all about it. So don't go getting all pissy at me because I didn't have anything to do with the crowds in that shit hole. I protect places like that on this board. I can't tell you the times I've deleted Collins river and other give away posts off my board.  YOU DID THIS ONE ALL YOURSELF OLE BOY. You're right loose lips sink ships. A lesson you maybe are finally learning.

Man up and take responsibility for your own f--- ups from now own.

Mike, I can attest to your protection of the Collins.  I metioned it in passing a couple years ago in a post.  Not knowing anything about the river as I have never even fished it.  Just stating some guys were posting access spots on an East tn forum and the name Collins was quickly deleted with a pm sent explaining how fragile the fishery is.
