Weekend on the river
« on: January 24, 2011, 01:32:16 PM »
Spent Sat and sun with some good buds on Musky water. Saturday me Jarrod and Travis checked out some new water and didn't get any activity on gear. Sunday Me Jarrod and Todd spent the day on familiar water and we had action on the fly. I think in all we had 3 follows and one eater. Jarrod broke the spell with his first Musky on the fly and had a better fish follow. I had a small guy follow to the the boat right off the bat. It was a great day on the river and felt good to get my casting arm back in motion. Hybrid, and White bass Season is lurking around the corner and I'm getting stoked.

It was good to meet you Todd and I can't wait to see some of those new boats. Thanks for the breakfast too!

Mike,

It was great to finally meet all you guys and to be in the boat for Jarrod's first.  Thanks for letting me tag along. That really is a sweet, sweet little boat - when are you putting in the expresso machine?

Before you two hit Woodbury, I had drank a cup of coffee, a cup of soup and was asleep on the couch - what a puss! :D

Y'all come back soon and we'll try some "expeditionary" stuff.

Had a great time fellas.  I take partial credit for Jarrod's fish....if you catch a musky on one of my flies, I'm kinda fishing vicariously through you ;D.
The road trip was fun, and the country and waters up there are beautiful. I can't wait to explore more up there, and learn more about these stubborn, intriquing fish.  We'll have to hit it again soon.

Todd, It was great to meet you, and thanks for all the info and the breakfast.  If you're ever up this way, let me know, and I'll be glad to show you around the East TN waters.  Keep me posted on the watercraft.

Thanks Travis - it was real good to meet you too. I need to get back up your way soon - it's been a few years. And I need to get some of those flies- good work on those!
