By the way, I did find at least one Michigan DNR study (Iron Lake) finding that a high population of muskie 30 inches and larger resulted in a "severe decline in previously substantial populations of black crappie."  It seemed to be an extreme example, but my point is just that it's not entirely accurate to say the studies "refute" muskie predation on crappie, at least under the right circumstances.

Okay.  I was just debating the academics of the issue, not trying to hurt the fishery.  If anything's going to stop the locals from killing more muskies, it will probably be more interest in the fishery and more people willing to give a shout to TWRA when they see someone doing wrong.

On the other hand, maybe I was just trying to get revenge on those toothy green sons of bitches for making me drive two hours to McMinnville for nothing so many times.
