Really why should I pay 2x-3x the "fair price" for say a 4wt flyrod that I might use 4 times a year, while you on the other hand plan to throw double nymph rig 40 times a year (and have no problem fitting your rod through a car door). I am not only being charged more, but in the fictitious example, I am also subsiding your use/abuse.
Maybe we can get the rod companies to sell at "bfish" price, but allow one to buy into upgrade warranty program with a "bd" add-on (for those that deem a no fault/no question asked warranty a necessity).
I like high end rods, but they have priced themselves out of my price range (yea I am pouting). It sort of erks me that some claim great "customer" service when in actuality they have already paid for the replacement (and in most cases the replacement rod's replacement too).
