Trolling motor for pontoon boat
«

So I am looking to put a trolling motor on my pontoon boat for fishing this year. This way I can run up or down from Happy Hollow or another access point.
I am getting the 30" with 30 lbs of thrust.
Is it worth the extra $30 dollars to buy new:
http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/pod/standard-pod-wrapped.jsp?id=0017800&navCount=3&parentId=cat602014&masterpathid=&navAction=push&cmCat=MainCatcat21276-cat602014_TGP&parentType=index&indexId=cat602014&rid=
Here is the bargain version, only one year of warranty:
http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?id=0017823013595a&navCount=5&podId=0017823&parentId=cat602014&masterpathid=&navAction=jump&cmCat=MainCatcat21276-cat602014_TGP&catalogCode=2UG&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat602014&hasJS=true
Appreciate the feedback and guidance.

What shaft length and what are you running it on? Mine will be on a White River 9' one man pontoon.

Just curious here-Do you have to register those too, if you put any kind of motor on them like you do a boat?

Yesterday, I was at the bottom. I was at the bottom of a valley, in the river. Then my eyes hiked up the mountains to the snow capped peaks. I thought, "When I am at this lowest place I can be, standing in a river, everything is looking up."

Looks like the more $$$ one has free shipping and the cheaper one dosen't.

Ron, yeah, as soon as you add a motor you have to pay the piper.
Mike - I saw that when I was reviewing today. Free shipping and 2 year warranty, can't beat that.
