Leader questions
« on: February 20, 2007, 04:29:13 PM »
So Mike talking about leaders got me thinking, what does everyone do for their leaders. I know it depends on type of fishing but lets try the poll and see what the responses are.

What say ye?

I buy tapered leaders. As little as I get to fish, it doesn't cost me much per year. I think I bought six last year. I use them right out of the package til they get too short than just add tippet til they get too old.
Yesterday, I was at the bottom. I was at the bottom of a valley, in the river. Then my eyes hiked up the mountains to the snow capped peaks. I thought, "When I am at this lowest place I can be, standing in a river, everything is looking up."

I buy tapered leaders and love the Frog Hair Supple Butt leaders....

having said that, I have a fixture already built and plan on starting to build my own furled leaders.  Warren Patterson and Jack Hise make theirs and they look great and apparantly fish that way too.  I want to learn how to  make them and who knows from there!!
