I heard a rumor about a 2/0 articulated hook, hand on trolling motor. Dang shame both hooks didn't get him, and a snake fall in boat 10 seconds later  :o

The highlight was when Sam said authoritatively, "This is how we remove the hook. First we wrap this leader around it, and then I'm going to pull...  One, two,..." YANK!  OUCH!!!!

Hook didn't budge an inch.

Guys, don't mess with Yoda. He is one tough SOB to tough it out like it was no big deal.

We caught fish (a few).  Sam caught a beautiful picture-worthy brown.

Unfortunately, on the fish the hook removals were far less entertaining.

My wife pre-kids worked for the head of opthamology at Vanderbilt and she prepped his presentations for group events as one part of her job. They would talk about extreme cases and procedures.

One such case was this:

Norman DD-22 with a treble hook directly through a guy's pupil.

Yet another reason to wear shades.

Did the guy lose sight in that eye?
Wherever the standard of freedom and Independence has been or shall be unfurled, there will her heart, her benedictions and her prayers be.

But she goes not abroad, in search of monsters to destroy.

She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all.

She is the champion and vindicator only of her own.

I couldn't remember since that was 4 years ago when she was in eye so I emailed her. Now she's in liver transplant but she said she couldn't remember either.

I do remember that of all the things that came through there, that one instance with the fishing lure and all the "shaken baby" cases were the parts that got to her. Her doc was head of all Peds Eye, he had to do the in court stuff and she had to organize his associated paperwork since the only way to tell was an eye exam.
