Trolling for winter walleye and bass on Dale Hollow
« on: January 03, 2012, 12:50:26 PM »
The trolling on Dale has been good so far this winter. The water temps, above average, still hovering in the lower 50s. Notice the 2nd 'eye from the right in the first pic is silver. Any thoughts?

It's just a rare color variant.  A silver one pops up occasionally.  People frequently call them "blue walleye," though apparently they are different from the silver "blue walleye" subspecies that used to be common in the Great Lakes.  Those "true" blue walleye apparently were wiped out by commercial fishing and other problems and became extinct some time in the 1970s.
