Fishing Report/June
« on: June 30, 2006, 07:43:12 PM »
Calfkiller (hwy 111 bridge access) between Spencer and Sparta. There is an 800 yard fastwater section ideal for large nymphs and streamers.
Olive hellgramite nymphs#6, weighted black/white streamers streamers, and popping bugs. Smallmouth can be surprisingly large and frequent. Morning until 2pm seems best.

Collins River at Shells Ford access. Spotty for smallmouth on 2 recent trips. All caught on #6 white streamers.
Maybe better in July. Earlier in day best.

Cane Creek still has trout if you are willing to get up early and cover lots of water. Large#6 black stremers do the trick as well as olive wool head sculpins. Bait fishermen are doing fair in deep holes with minnows.

Caney Fork below Cane Creek enterance/Double Bridges. Not so good for large mouth and only fair for Bluegill, only fish came on #6 chartruse popping bug. Other fishermen report that June was a poor month.
